Christmas On A Budget: Gift Idea

Christmas on a budget is a reality for most of us, especially when you have so many gifts to buy. Teachers, coworkers, the mailman; the list of people you want to show your appreciation for is endless. It would be very easy to break the bank, but I have a great DIY idea that can provide gifts for many on very little money. Make them all a CD of Holiday hits!

It is very simple to do. Create a playlist of 10 to 12 of your favorite Holiday songs and burn them onto a CD. You can find cover art on the internet to down load and print for your cover. Above is a Christmas cover from, and there are many more available. You can print cover art directly onto a sleeve, or print and slide it into a case. Viola! Your gift is complete.

The materials I used were from Target. If you don't have a Target close to you, they are easy to find just about anywhere. I used:

Memorex CD-R Spindle Disc Pack

You can go with sleeves:

Memorex CD/DVD White Paper Sleeves

Or you can use:

Memorex CD/DVD Slim Color Jewel Case
30 PK

To purchase the supplies, I paid $27.87, plus tax. I made 30 gifts, and paid $.93 each, plus tax, so it will vary from state to state, but each gift costs less than $1.00. You can't beat that!

You can use the same idea, take away the Holiday theme, and you have a gift that keeps giving year round.

What a great gift for Grandma and Grandpa, or any family member! Let your child create the cover art, to make it extra special!

You can also use this DIY for party favors!

Take the stress out of your holiday giving with this great DIY idea! The recipients will love the thought and care you put into creating, and you will love the price tag. Ho Ho Ho!
